Colpovision India is a dedicated Holistic Health Studio located in Kurla, Mumbai, established in 2017 by Dr. Anjali Talwalkar, a senior practicing gynecologist with over 25 years of experience in women’s healthcare. The core mission of the studio is to prevent, diagnose, and eventually eradicate cervical cancer through a comprehensive and community-centric approach.
Cervical cancer, often silent in its early stages, is one of the most preventable forms of cancer in women — provided it is caught early through regular screening and timely vaccination. Recognizing this, Dr. Anjali founded Colpovision India as a platform not just for diagnosis, but for awareness, education, and empowerment.
The studio works extensively at the grassroots level, organizing seminars, screening camps, and educational sessionsacross various communities, schools, colleges, and corporate setups. Over 100 such awareness programs have been conducted to date, reaching thousands of women across Mumbai and beyond. Each session focuses on demystifying cervical cancer, teaching women the importance of Pap smears, HPV vaccination, and regular gynecological check-ups.
Dr. Anjali Talwalkar, an alumnus of Grant Medical College and trained at Sion Hospital, has been a strong advocate for cervical cancer awareness since early in her career. In 2008, she underwent specialized training in Colposcopy — a diagnostic technique that helps in early detection of pre-cancerous conditions of the cervix. Since then, she has performed over 1000 Colposcopies and helped countless women take timely action for their health.
Her community-based survey of 542 suburban women, which earned her the 1st prize at FOGSI-FIGO 2016, highlights her commitment to making women’s health a public priority. She is also attached to reputed hospitals such as Kohinoor Hospital, Fauziya Hospital, Gansai Hospital, and Suburban Hospital, where she continues her clinical work alongside her advocacy.
Team Colpovision India, under Dr. Anjali’s guidance, believes that awareness is the first vaccine. Through continuous efforts, collaborations, and a compassionate approach, the team strives to create a future where no woman dies of a preventable disease like cervical cancer.
